[Game] スイーツ作り Making Sweets~!

It is the end of December! Have you arranged plans for your year-end party/countdown?

Instead of introducing a whole bunch of games this month, I'm introducing this new game app I have found! The title of the game is スイーツ作り! Making Sweets~!

If you are familiar with Mushroom Garden aka Funghi Growing Kit, this game works in a similar fashion! You bake treats with the ingredients available, and you use your finger to swipe them off the oven like 'harvesting'!

One of the first treats you can bake!
You can figure out the recipes and the time needed to bake them from the second icon from the left! Do not set the timer to the wrong time or you'll end up with burnt treats ): There are two ways to unlock new treats, either by reaching a set amount of SP or by successfully baking a prior recipe!

Add the ingredients, set the timer, and press the green button to START!

The little treats are baking now! Timer at the top of the screen.
You cannot leave your baked treats on the oven for too long though, or they will burn too!

The display (middle icon) is the record of all the treats you have baked! Currently, you can unlock 20 different treats!

Other than the cute graphics and simple interface, I find that it helps in improving my Japanese! Motivated to read and understand XD The game is a really quick one too, took me only a few days to unlock all 20 recipes!

For technical issues, the game seems to lag a bit especially during the swiping motions.

Hope you have enjoyed reading this, and try out the game if you will :D

[anibee] Ani-Music: Mizuki Nana

Boasting an impressive track record, introducing to you Mizuki Nana (水樹 奈々)!

Mizuki Nana promoting Mugen. Imgae from generasia
Scouted by King Records at the age of 20, she has since built a substantial fan base not only as a anisong artist, but also a mainstream J-Pop singer! Known for her powerful voice, her performances are guaranteed to blow you away!

She is a holder of several firsts! In October 2005, her 12th single Eternal Blaze made it into the 2nd place in the Oricon charts, becoming the first seiyuu (voice actress) ever to achieve this! In June 2009, she made history by being the first seiyuu to have her original album (Ultimate Diamond) topping the Oricon charts! From there, she has gone on to release several more chart-topping hits, such as Phantom Minds (opening song for  Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st) and Shin Ai (opening song for anime White Album).

But wait there's more! In 2011, she became the first seiyuu (and 8th female solo artist) to hold a concert in Japan's largest concert hall: Tokyo Dome. Wow O(≧∇≦)O

Moreover, she has an awesome voice-acting record in the 10 years she has been a seiyuu! She has clinched popular roles in animes such as Naruto (Hyuuga Hinata),  Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's (Fate Testarossa) and many more!

She's so so so popular, that she had to turn down the offer to perform at Animelo Summer Live 2012, the biggest annual anime songs concert in Japan managed by Animelo Mix. Talk about being busily famous!

She sings, models, hosts radio shows, voice-acts, and even writes her own lyrics! She's the multi-talented Mizuki Nana! Won't you want her to be performing here someday? :D

[anibee] Instrumental Pick of the Month (December)

Konnichiwa! Did you enjoy last month's selection of instrumental pieces? It's the month of December, and here are some instrumentals for you to get away from the Christmas carols blasting in malls 24/7 and into your anime world.

Last month's selection had some really short pieces, so to make up for it, here are 5 tracks that are at least 4 minutes long each :D

Check out this month's selections, again in no order of merit. If you've watched the anime, see if you can pick up where these songs were played in the background (:

Image from Tumblr.

1. sadame (Composed by Naoki Sato, X)
Yes, an instrumental that is not 1-2 minutes long! XD Coming from a manga by CLAMP in 1999, this series follows Kamui Shirō, a young esper who returns home to Tokyo after a six-year absence to face his destiny as the one who will determine humanity's fate. The manga series was never finished, but the anime adaptation still packs a storyline and a good soundtrack.

2. Legend of Ashitaka (Composed by Joe Hisaishi, Mononoke Hime)
The film has very strong environmental-conscious messages, and it is an intriguing film because there is no obvious ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ side. No to mention that accompanying the storyline is a fantastic soundtrack ^.^ This song is most representative of the film, I feel.

3. Desert sunset (Composed by Yuki Kajiura, El Cazador de la Bruja)
Personally, I have not watched this series, but it has gone into my to-watch list simply because of the soundtrack and also because the composer is Yuki Kaijura <3

4. Hikari (Composed by Kaoru Wada, Kingdom Hearts)
Now Kingdom Hearts warrants no introduction! Orchestra version. Check out the Japanese and English (titled Simple and Clean) versions as well, sung by powerhouse J-Pop singer Utada Hikaru! Unfortunately, she has gone on hiatus at the moment, but she has continued to write music during this time, so you can still expect awesome music from her!

5. Krone (Composed by Sawano Hiroyuki, Guilty Crown)
Played in episode 13 of this highly popular series, it is the bittersweet, non-vocalized version of Bios. Sadly, I felt that the plot execution of this series did not match up to the stellar quality the soundtracks and songs achieved. Still, this song and the whole soundtrack, is worth a listen!

Hope you've enjoyed this month's selection! Stay tuned for the next one :D

[Personal] Trip to Legoland!

Good morning!

So dollonstrings and I had signed up for a Groupon to travel to Legoland and other places quite some time ago, but we only had time to go for it now XD The meetup timing was 7am at Newton Hawker Centre carpark. Initially they wrote 6.30am on the receipt, and we were cracking our heads over how to get to Newton cheaply. But 7am is perfectly fine (:

Photos taken using Canon IXUS 220 H (with a wonky lens!). Photo spam ahead!

Didn't have a decent shot of myself, so this one by dollonstrings!

Kateyo Hitman Reborn (KHR) Shirt from AFA 2012. I love that event so so much. <3 No make for today too!

Chocolate Boutique

Large info boards!

Beautiful packages to bring home!

Ship made of Legos! A hint to our next destination?

Rows of chocolate!

I really think that putting the chocolate boutique at the very start of the day is quite silly. Who will carry loads of chocolate to a place with absolutely no shelter? Everything will melt O.o I never really fancied fruit in my chocolate either =\

We reached at about 10.30 in the morning, and had to leave by 3.45pm, so we had about 5 hours in there! To me, it was pretty sufficient since I did not want to try out most of the kiddy/scary rides XD

The very long walk in!

And there was a Christmas tree that you would see when you walked in! Since the Legoland was sponsored by Canon, there were people carrying Canon DSLRs around, you could get your photo taken for a fee.
Interesting signboards!
Some of these are electronic, so they can move at certain intervals! Voiced.

Part of this interactive game where you compete to put out a fire!
-more screaming-

Spot us!
We sat this interesting ride where you would just sit and ride all the way to the top and back down again. It gave us a bird's eye view of the whole park! Some pictures taken from the top:

After that, dollonstrings wanted to try this silly ride, so we queued for another 30 minutes for this one! In this, you're basically given a short amount of time to pull yourself up to the top, come back down, and pull yourself up again.

Before the ride started -all calm-

-harder than it looks-

FYI, she never made it to the top.
After that, all better.
Dragons learning how to aim.

The castle here was the queue leading into the largest rollercoaster they had.

We ate at Market Restaurant, which had the best prices for the amount of food, I felt. It had an IKEA style of ordering, just take what you want and pay at the cashier XD  The above set of chicken, soup and drink was RM 24. Outside at the cafes, snacks like cocktail sausages were selling for RM 15 D:

The biggest attraction of  Legoland! Everything built from Lego blocks, with a ratio of 1:20. I have too many pictures from this >< So I've picked a few and made it into a collage using Picasa. ^^ Click on it for a bigger view!

How many landmarks can you recognise?

Singapore! A hotel!
Mini Kuala Lumpur!
It really is a fun place to go around with kids and friends, but the rides had horribly long queues (weekend maybe?) with 30-45 minutes wait for every ride! The Dragon rollercoaster had a 95 minute wait! Thankfully, I am not a fan of rollercoasters XD The ticket price was RM 140 for an adult, so it is pretty pricey ><

AEON City Shopping Centre

My dad told me that I have been to this shopping centre. Turns out I really have, and many many times, so I was not too keen on taking photos XD Check out dollonstrings's post for photos of AEON City SHopping Centre instead XD I did walk into Harris (the MY version of POPULAR) and bought the remaining books of a supernatural mystery series I was interested in. :D It's a Japanese novel translated into Chinese, and has pretty cover art.

Pretty Christmas decor!

I think this was the only decent selca I had XD
Not too many pictures this time, because my camera lens is wonky and half the pictures will turn out blur ): Looking forward to saving enough money for a Canon Powershot! In the meantime, I will be exploring the park near my house, and the nearby housing estates for nice photoshoot locations! Will have some posts on them soon ^^
