[anibee] Instrumental Pick of the Month!

What makes an anime so successful? Is it the characters, the plot, the voice actors/actresses, the opening/ending themes? Still, one cannot forget the wonderful instrumentals that play in the background, as well as the talented composers (who also may have composed some of your favourite karaoke songs)! Here I will introduce to you, 5 instrumental tracks for you to enjoy! You can combine them all into a playlist and listen over a coffee break or while studying (:

1. Reprise (Composed by Joe Hisaishi, Spirited Away)
The soundtracks of the movies from Ghibli Studio have been well-received, so how could we not have this song in the list? Avid fans of this movie would definitely be able to tell when this song was played!

2. Melody (Composed by Yuki Kajiura, Pandora Hearts)
Otherwise known as the pocket watch melody or Lacie, this is an instant favourite with its gentle and unique tone by utilizing a music box. There is also a piano version available.

3. Zero Hour (Composed by Yuki Kajiura, Noir)
A lesser known track from a much older anime series, it is still popular among fans for being a highly emotional piece.

4. God Knows (Composed by Satoru Kousaki, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
A different take on this upbeat piece, the piano instrumental version is more mellow and soothing, yet still keeping its original groovy feel. If you have always enjoyed this song, now you have an alternative version to listen to! This particular version was arranged by Josh Agaraddo.

5. Hair Ornament Wet With Tears (Produced by Takayuki Negishi, Cardcaptor Sakura)
This soothing song plays towards the end of the first movie in this highly popular series. There is also a version with lyrics, titled Love Song in the Spring Evening in the same OST, found here!

So which song is your current background song? I hope you have enjoyed this month's selection, and stay tuned for the next one!
