[Food] Yayoiken

Had a wonderful night out with the lovely peeps from NUS :D Been forever since I met them outside of school matters, but the first thing we discussed was about school OTL. Honours Thesis matters, woes of a final year student haha.

Was feeling pretty trigger-happy with my new camera XD

The exterior!
Yayoiken is a pretty accessible place with affordable food (most under $20). Just take the escalator outside New Look, and turn LEFT! Turning right will make you walk an entire round before reaching lol.

Food displays outside!

Can take selfies with the front-facing LCD haha! Still need to get used to the 170deg tilt screen!

Yakiniku set!

Japanese style hamburgers! (S-17)
I can still remember the number on the menu LOL. It comes with a beef and a pork hamburg, grilled Japanese style! There's also the Western style, but honestly I can't taste the difference between them other than the sauce XD

I did try the tonkatsu which Yayoiken is famous for, but I honestly prefer the hamburgs XD Tonkatsu is crispy, but a little too dry for me as I was having an inflamed throat that night.

Being trigger-happy/
Dessert time! We got a Matcha Pudding and a Milo Pudding (:

Tastes like chocolate! Can be a bit heavy to stomach after a full meal.
Overall, price was good for the food served! Service was really good too, with only a few people serving but was really efficient! Food came super fast too XD

Have you tried Yayoiken? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

[Assignment] Yfest @ Esplanade

Before I came to work for this event, I was quite worried about the haze condition because I would be outdoors 99% of the time. But well,  THE SHOW MUST GO ON. Continue reading to see how I braved the haze!

Day 1

Where did MBS go LOL.

The haze was really bad lol. Soundchecks were halted for a pretty long time, and it was constantly worrying that the PSI would not drop below 200 in time for the performances.

Waiting the haze out in office!!

But hey! It did, and so we have a great night out!

Heartfelt! The guy on the right is super awesome!

GLP! Naz I will remember you forever. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID lol just kidding.

My pet alpaca!

Day 2

Day started with haze about PSI 300? Dropped unexpectedly quickly, and soundchecks were on as usual! Turn-out was really good too with the PSI hovering ~100 that night. Yay (:

View from the Rehearsal Studio. So clear!
ITE Show Choir was the first act that night, and they were a passionate bunch of people on stage! Could be better in tune, honestly.

Halfway, the show had new special effects: FIREWORKS from NDP lol /o/

Floating platform~

Day 3

The day with the latest reporting time yay! And with the most breaks lol.

Really liking this set at the Concourse!

Loving the dome areas because the voice echoes so nicely hahaha

Check out Super Moon yo.

Trick rocking the stage!
In this event I didn't really get to interact with artists very closely, because I had to run around and take care of different artists all at one time :P But it was still fun watching all the performances! Never come across so much rapping in a while XD

Random pictures I took while on break!

Looks like cute collectibles!

Reminds me of Power Rangers lol.

On another happy note, I finally received my dream camera: Olympus E-PL5! Can't wait to unbox it! It's been sitting in a corner of my room.

Hoping to attend COSMO Youth Parade this weekend! Hope to see you there!

With love,

[Lolita] Thumbelina Collection by R-Series

All pictures are property of R-series.

Another Lolita post filled with pretty pictures! (: Today will be a feature on a past collection by R-series, teh Thumbelina collection! I personally prefer featuring this one than the latest one they have, because the latest one isn't complete yet (plus the pictures aren't so appealing). The whole collection is quite comprehensive! It consists of a blouse, OP, JSK, pants (!), matching headgear, wrist cuffs and cute accessories! And even a wig, but I'm not featuring it XD

Available in Milk white, Cafe au Lait (about twice as thick) and Chocolet, I find the lace additions pretty interesting! It seems to be available in both white and the original dye.

The sleeves have got many buttons.

Waist ties that are removable.

Available in Chocomint and Cranberry macaroon! You can pair the JSK with the blouse for up to 6 possible variations :D

I don't really fancy the brown lace(?) at the bottom of the skirt ):

Back view

They look really normal, but I think this set of photos are so pretty ;_;

The vest is no where to be found ._.

The necklace features a slice of cake and a spoon and a fork:

The rings are absolutely cute and variety is aplenty:

Head bow, bonnet and wrist cuffs available to complete the look:

You will have to be careful about buying from them though, because
1) The prices rival Japanese-branded Lolita dresses.
2) The quality tends not to be as good.

Still, it doesn't hurt to be looking at the pretty pictures XD
