[Review] Facial Masks: Innisfree

Starting the year with a review post! These masks are from some time ago. I took the time to transfer the photos I took from my camera to my computer to do this post xD This post has all the masks coming from the same series, but I hope to change things up in the next post! From left to right:

♡  Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask (Pomegranate) ♡

What it is: Sheet mask with freshly squeezed pomegranates to make the skin firm and radiant while reducing wrinkles

What it does: Brings radiance to the skin, anti-aging and  moisturising effects

Key ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Ethanol, Betaine, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Pomegranate Juice(200mg)

My thoughts: Again, the triple-layered mask is a snug fit to my face, and stays on for a long time! I can always work or play the piano while having this mask on (multi-tasking at its finest) haha!

♡  Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask (Bamboo) ♡

What it is: A mask containing bamboo extract to quench your skin's thirst and keep it moisturized.

What it does: While bamboo brings along moisture, the mask is also infused with the Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.

Key ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria)

My thoughts: This mask was comfortable as it did not have any noticeable scent. In terms of moisturizing effects, it did a good job without any stinging feeling.

♡  Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask (Tea Tree) ♡

What it is: A mask with tea tree ingredients to clear skin.

What it does: Cleanses the skin using the medicinal properties of tea tree

Key ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol

My thoughts: I decided to use this mask while I was having pimples on my temples and one on my cheek. The mask did not do anything much in reducing the pimples. Perhaps it would have more significant effects if I had redness on the skin? For mild troubles, I would skip this mask and use other tea tree products instead.

The Sunday Currently, Volume Thirty Seven

Happy 2018! What have you been doing to kickstart this year? This post is a day late because I am posting it on a Monday instead of a Sunday, but this particular Monday has a lot of meaning.

2017 has been a year jam-packed with various activities, summed up with my #bestnine2017 collage. I have been promoted at work, travelled to Melbourne to see a long time friend, to Germany to compete in one of the most grueling competitions of all time. I also completed a shoot with my favourite jacket!

LISTENING... to this absolutely touching piece of music. I am honoured to be learning and singing this piece this year, which reminds me of my grandfather. Do give it a listen if you can~!

LOVING... the new wardrobe I bought for my room! Got it from Forty Two Furniture and Home Decor! Responses from customer service were prompt, and the items were delivered swiftly! Going to get a study desk from this website this month =]

FEELING... motivated to start and end this 2018 well! Some goals I have include doodling more for my monthly journal, reading and exercising more, getting out there and taking more photos! Also family goals like digitizing our old photos, travelling and revamping the bedroom so that I can get some space for photo layouts!

DISLIKING... that I have to change from ezbuy's one-stop service to purchasing direct from Taobao. While my first few purchases have turned out fine, I only found out last week that I had to download the Taobao app on my phone to be able to see messages that sellers were sending me on the orders. The Taobao interface is very cluttered; I hope they will improve it over time!

WAITING... for the study desks to be set-up and installed before deciding on what kind of storage I would need to get to keep my space neat and tidy! It is a long series of steps and coordination between the town council's schedule, my schedule and the delivery lead times of the various websites, but it will be all worth it, just like my wardrobe!

COVETING... some drawers from MUJI to make better use of my cupboard space. Also, I read an article recently on using tension poles to create layers in cupboards and small spaces. I might try that out!

STARTING... on a app for 7-minute workouts! I've started on a basic plan today, and today's exercises were fairly easy. Hoping to keep this discipline up after all the festive eating in December xD

Inspired by the original The Sunday Currently, here.

[Review] Facial Masks Pt 2

I have been using more gel type masks the past month because of the freebies I got from innisfree, and I kept forgetting to keep the packaging. xD But here is finally another mini-review of masks! From left to right:

♡  Dr Morita Intensive Whitening Facial Mask ♡

What it is: Sheet mask for clear and fair skin.

What it does: Maintain ideal hydration levels of skin and restoring skin balance

Price: I bought them as loose sheets, but the boxes retail at $15.90 at Sasa / Qoo10.

Key ingredients: Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Rice extract, Green Tea Extract

My thoughts: I usually use whitening masks when I spend a lot of time outdoors or when I have long days - the mask really helps in brightening up the skin. I think you would need to use this more often for the whitening effect to be more apparent.

♡  Dr Morita Intensive Hydrating Facial Mask ♡

What it is: Sheet mask to leave skin dewy soft and hydrated with improved elasticity

What it does: Replenishes and keeps the moisture to create hydrated skin.

Key ingredients: Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Vitamin B5, Aloe Extract, Seaweed Extract

My thoughts: The top few ingredients do not change much from mask to mask. However, this mask did achieve the hydrating effects very well! There was some stinging while the mask was on, but this was because my skin was really dry (especially around the nose area)!

♡  Innisfree Green Tea Capsule Recipe Pack ♡

What it is: Sleeping mask for hydration using green tea

What it does: Keeps your skin moisturized and clear while sleeping, using organic Jeju green tea

Price: This was a freebie from innisfree, so there is no price tag to it. It does retail online at S$3.49. Each pack has up to two applications!

Key ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Methypropanediol, Algae Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Fig Extract (and the list of extracts goes on...)

My thoughts: The packaging is quite travel-friendly, and you can close the lid to keep the tub in the fridge for the next use. Or share with a friend! This mask was very calming on the skin, and my skin looked hydrated the next day (even after sleeping in air-con).
