[Feature] Kawaii in Manila 2~!

Now that I am finally done posting about my past Taiwan trip, now I can focus on what the future holds~!

Kawaii in Manila 2 is a convention hosted by the lovely team behind Kawaii Philippines, with the aim of spreading kawaii culture from Japan to Philippines and to the rest of the world! #kawaiimovement

Kawaii in Manila 2
Whitespace Manila, Makati
11:00 AM - 8:00 PM
#kawaiiinmanila2 & #kawaiiph

Kawaii isn’t just an expression nor a trend, it is a lifestyle – an appreciation for all things cute and also a way of looking at the world in a positive light.

So what's in store?

 1) Kawaii Workshops!

Ever wanted to make your own accessories? Or write with style? Kawaii in Manila 2 will hold two workshops during the event!

One is an accessory-making workshop using polymer clay by Provenance 1800 Designs and Crafts, and another is a lettering workshop! I am *really* interested in the latter!

2) Fashion Runway + Kawaii Girl + Ikemen Guy Contest!

Headed by Candy Kawaii Lover, there will be a Harajuku Fashion runway featuring how YOU can also be a kawaii girl/ikemen guy! And just for Filipinos, you get a chance to be a Kawaii.PH ambassador if you win the Kawaii Girl or Ikemen Guy contest!

Just recently, a model search was held! Are you one of the lucky ones?!

3) Kawaii Art exhibition~!

Get to see your favourite artists showcase what kawaii means to them, and how it has changed their lives! I am really looking forward to this exhibit, because I can't draw for nuts x)

My banner was drawn by Chichi Romero aka Little Miss Paintbrush, and she's one of the featured artists here! Yippee!

I've admired Jin's work (both cosplay and non-cosplay) for a long time now, so I am really excited to her her artwork~!

4) Kawaii-related booths! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

Need a boost of kawaii items? Want to be inspired by like-minded people? Many booths will be set up for you to replenish (or overload) your room and self with kawaii goodies~! Here are my top five booths that I definitely want to visit:

-- Hodge Podge: I think the accessories are really really cute, and a simple and subtle way to add some kawaii-ness to an everyday/work look~!

-- Keybie Cafe: Such cuteness~!!! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) I can't wait to buy a few home!

-- Whimsicute: The hairbands are especially pretty! Would love to get my hands on one of them! Or the bows (★^O^★)

-- Spring Marionette: Quirky and pretty accessories~! I think some are pretty suited for mori style, which is a style I quite like at the moment~!

-- Perry in Disguise: I'm a fan of hoodies! I hope they sell them at Kawaii in Manila ヽ( ★ω★)ノ

... Aaaand lots more~!

And not to worry, there are also food booths such as Izumi Curry (incidentally, known as the best curry place in Manila), so you won't have to even leave the venue to grab food XD

5) Rainbowholic Cafe~! ヾ(。◕ฺ∀◕ฺ)ノ

Now THIS is what I am most looking forward to (Singaporeans love food LOLOL). Kaila aka Rainbowholic aka I-can-dream-so-I-can-do aka inspirational-kawaii-friend will be having a pop-up booth of her dream cafe! Her cafe hopes to channel kawaii vibes to everyone, and provide a venue for creative work while chillax-ing~!

Are you excited too? It's not too late to book a flight ticket xD I will be attending this event, and I hope to come back with an awesome kawaii experience with new and old friends, lots of amazing photos and lots of kawaii goodies and no money xD

[Amaya Travels] Taiwan Trip Part 18: Taipei (台北)

Yes I promise you, this is the last post xDD I really enjoying posting pictures from the trip, and adding comments where I can remember! It's like reliving the trip all over again #cheapthrill

We spent some time at Cheng Pin bookstore!

Random breakfast meal xD

Xin Bei Tou (新北投)

We weren't so game about trying hot springs, but we were okay with soaking our feet in one (that is also free)!

Spent the day learning more about the hot springs in Beitou, and admiring more Japanese architecture~!

A hall with tatami! Closed to visitors though ):

Room slippers! :D

The huge common bath

After asking around for directions and some googling, we found the free foot soak hot springs :D

Since we heard that buying electronics was cheaper in Taiwan than Singapore, we paid a visit to their largest electronics market: Guang Hua (光华商场)! Nearby was a famous pancake place, which we patronized! The filling is WAY MORE than the Singapore version xD Very worth the money :D

Flavours not found in SG available too!

We didn't have fixed plans, so we decided to drop by 西门红楼! When we did a search on Wiki to see what was inside, we only found info on a gay bar ._. But were we pleasantly surprised!

It houses 16 workshops, which includes several artsy and quirky brands, and is sure to delight you (:

Ximending (西门町)

Pretty much a random collection of photos~

Had conveyor belt sushi for dinner xD Cheaper than in Singapore!

We tried all the specials xD

When in Taiwan, eating cup noodles is a must!

Only succeeded on the last day LOL

Omiyage back for the ones waiting for us back home!!

Just for our special buddy waiting for us back at home, we chiong-ed to the Wu Pao Chun branch in Taipei to buy bread back for her xD

And it's HOME SWEET HOME (like finally!) XDD
